The saturated fat argument is based on eating too many calories and too much total fat. If you're committed to being overweight for the rest of your life, the type of fat you eat probably matters. But if you're going to correct the problem and eat calories within your target, the percentage of saturated fat doesn't really matter that much. We reduce the amount of saturated fat coming from animal products, but we replaced it with hydrogenated fats coming from vegetable oils which are even worse.
