What's the Story of the Nuclear Tests?
I live and work in Australia on unceded sovereign Aboriginal land. And we have made a lot of effort here in Australia through the medical association for the prevention of war to really center the voices of nuclear weapons survivors. So I think about Yami Lester, who was a man who became progressively blind after his exposures to nuclear testing. You see a far higher rate of both solid organ and also blood cancers than you would find in a comparable community nearby. There's a loss of culture and there's a disconnection with the land because the land is poisoned.
