Spontaneity and Creativity in a Novel
Spontaneity is fine, and it has its place, but creativity is never being throttled by me imposing a structure. Ah, it'sa i love having a structure. The current working in progress, i had about a four thousand word scene which i couldn't make work all at once because the voice had to be consistent. And as i began assembling that, ah, yet there's no spontaneity any more. But the creative fire is is raging, because now i can see how it needs to be built.
