CHAPTER

Indigenous Conservation and the Conservation Movement

The conservation movement was really begun by, not exclusively, but mostly begun by alit wealthy w sport hunters from north america. They were prescient in many ways, because they were saying something that the people in their society were not saying,. These animals are vulnerable and we have responsibility to protect them. But at the same time, they their reasons for wanting to protect them were all wrapped up with their ideas about protecting national pride or white masculinity. So it's a slow evolution that i think has really accelerated in the past few years, which i'm very happy to see.
