As aristotle famously puts it, man is generated by man and the son. After all, humans resemble their parents and grandparents more than they resemble other members of the species. This raises the intriguing possibility that aristotle could have allowed for the possibility of something like evolution. If you can be blue eyed when your parents have brown eyes, then why can't species themselves change from generation to generation? Make enough incremental changes across the generations, and you can turn apes into humans, as darwin taught us.
