I had advised my sister to refinance her loans in 2019. She was paying 4% on those private refinanced student loans. And of course, as soon as the news came out, that all of those would be 0% interest rate for indefinitely. I felt like a completely bad sister because she was paying 4%. It wasn't bad advice at the time. You make the best decisions based on what you know at that time. That's also the tricky thing about money and life is that so often we get a little bit revisionist history about the things that we did.
