In 19 16, never again called up for service. Stein at 24 years old, passes her doctr and arranges to work with husel as his academic assistant. A she serves as an assistant nurse to the soldiers of austria. For this work, edith received the medal of valor. And also, her work is, is, probably still is, but definitely, at the time, was rarely acknowledged.
