The Clinical Impact of Subthalamic Nucleus Focused Ultrasound on Parkinson's Disease Motor Features

Thalomotomy is useful and improves tremor, but it doesn't improve significantly the other cardinal features of PD. But on the other hand, subthalomotomy can improve those. So what we have shown here is that the effect of a subthalamic nucleus lesion, it's sustained for up to three years. The initial benefit that we achieve after the treatment can endure for a minimum of three years with no delayed adverse events.
