Polydectes and the Gorgon Medusa
Polydectes asks perseus to bring him the gorgon medusa's head as a back up gift. Perseus, being an honorable young man, manages to avoid telling polydectes what a psycho he is. In order to do this, he seeks help from athena, who was more than happy to lend a hand. Athena may be a badas female, wise, virgin goddess, but she basically only ever helps men and hurts womenbe you know,. Or rather, these stories were mostly promulgated by men.
