The Neolithic Period in Auckland
Auckland is renowned for its rich fertile agricultural land during the early fourth millennium BC, more than 5,000 years ago. It's around that time that we start to see the construction of great stone buildings. The Neolithic period in Auckland roughly lasted from the beginning of the fourth millennium. And it lasted until just over a thousand years later with the dawn of the Bronze Age or the Chalcolithic period in roughly 2,400, 2,300 BC.
