The Importance of Listening to Patients
I'm always an advocate of listening in order to speak, given the patient enough time and space to tell as much of their story as is possible. It's still perfectly valid to talk in patho anatomical terms about radicular pain. In most cases, there probably is some sort of discrete injury to the nerve root. I think sometimes people react to that complexity by going too far in one direction because it feels safe at one end of the spectrum. You just have to ask anyone with cordicwinis syndrome if they want to decompression or not.
