Introduction
Gonzalez V. Google is a case about whether Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act shields platforms from liability when they use algorithms to recommend content. Plaintiffs have sued Google, the parent company of YouTube, alleging that YouTube's algorithms aided terrorist recruitment by helping would-be terrorists find radicalizing videos. If accepted, their arguments would expose many websites' algorithmic matching features to litigation. And upend the platforms and tools that Americans rely on to find and organize information online.
