Juan De Pareja's Portrait of a Conversion

Juan de Pareja painted a picture of a conversion in relation to the fact that he may be of Morisco heritage. So-called Morisco people were Muslims who were forced to convert to Catholicism after the reconquest done by the Catholic monarchs in 1492. There's absolutely no writing about the color of his skin or his ethnic origins, racial background at all.
