I like to think we've made so much moral progress that we're inculcating into our minds, these moral values that don't need a higher power to reinforce them. You shouldn't treat blacks and women and Jews a certain way just because. It's sort of a Rawlsian or a Kantian, you know, people should not be a means to an end, they're an end in themselves. So what do you need religion for? Yeah. Any idea that you can teach those fundamental values in different ways? But also governments,. How come America is so much more religious than Europe? It still is, even though that gap is closing.

The United States is currently home to six generations of people. Twenge, PhD, a professor of psychology at San Diego State University, is the author of more than a hundred scientific publications and several books based on her research, including Generations, iGen, and Generation Me. Her research has been covered in Time, The Atlantic, Newsweek, the New York Times, USA TODAY, and the Washington Post. She has also been featured on Today, Good Morning America, Fox and Friends, CBS This Morning, and NPR. She lives in San Diego with her husband and three daughters.
