In 2004, exenitide was released as the first anti-diabetic medication made from GLP1. The initial drugs did not cause that much weight loss. Someagletide is causing in randomized controlled trials 15 to 18 percent loss of body weight. And then there's zepitide, which is approved for diabetes, not yet for obesity, but probably will be. So these drugs are amazing and drug development is going at light speed right now in this space.
