The Contrast Between Solomon and David

David's heart was divided as well. David didn't build shrines to more like the abomination of the Ammonites. He did not burn incense to the gods of the Philistines or whoever it might be. So when you hear this phrase about the heart being wholly true to the Lord their God, hear that as saying a heart which clung to that God and that God alone.
