Do You Preserve Your Books?

i like to see some damage on my books, because it makes that book mine. My friends don't take their books out and keep them in protective covers. Is this a thing you do? Ye, i try and keep 50 and like 20 i'm currently reading that kind of go in and out er. But, yen, they're all trashed. They're all completely light ripped and torn. And i live with some one who does preserve all her books very carefully, and she looks at me with horror.
