The Importance of Coal in India

In India, we have the third largest coal reserves in the world. We still import roughly 20% its strategy now is to bring down our import dependence of coal to zero over the next 50 to 20 years. But we have large huge reserves of coal in the country. When it comes to solar, solar for instance is growing rapidly in India. And as I said, it has become a grassroot revolution practically yet our dependence on equipment and cells and panels and all that for solar on import is very, very high. It's almost 80%. That actually worries us when the 80% is mostly from China, which is if you ask in terms of geopolitics is not necessarily our great friend.
