The Evolution of Germany's Centre
80% of German voters describe themselves as centrist, according to a recent survey. But where is this centre that they all congregate around in Germany? The Greens are effectively a centrist party but more conservative than 10 or 20 years ago. So I think the economist is roughly right. About 80% of Germans want to be somewhere in the centre.
