The Blue Glare of the Cave

The cave opposite to us was deluged with a living, oscillating drapery of blue flame. It overran the rocks like a beautiful gauze and wrapped their roughness in its own winsome brightness. And as the gleam sank into the nether world, almost as quick as that gleam itself, i was gone - down the sandy floor and through the gap and into the outer world.
