The Herbs of St John's Day

St John's work was a plant of the sun god and its yellow rays of petals are at their brightest and most potent around the summer solstice. It has captured Yavola in Italy and Shastiabla in France for its ability to scare off the devil and all other evil spirits. Demon lovers may be dispatched by wearing the flowers under your dress and packed in your left armpit it will ward off the evil eye. Should you wish to raise the ghost of a hanged man you will need a hazel wand, tipped with an owl's head and a bundle of St John's work.
