Andrew helgeline was a norwegian emigrant who answered one of bell's ads in a newspaper called the minneapolis tetendy. Andrew and bell corresponded with each other for 18 months before andrew finally set foot in la porte. In that time, bell wrote between 75 and 80 letters begging him to come. The vast majority of bell's letters to andrew actually survived.
