What Is the Meaning of Social Identity?
Social identity is the idea that our identities are often bigger than us as an individual person. So for me, that oud be like, i am canadian,. i am a professor, i am a social psychologist, i am new yorker. I am a father. All these things are parts of my identity, but when you look at them, they 're actually different social identities. And so what happens as we all contain multiple identities, or the coat we like to use as we contain multitudes, and the situation we're in activates these differentsocial identities. Once they're activated, they trigger us to haven ways nat a line with that.
