The Politics of Money Laundering

Many of the victims are retired oil workers and construction workers who spent their entire lives saving for an easy retirement. Now this, relegated to scraping by on Social Security checks and reliant on a court appointed lawyer to recover their money. The political end from whom the victims were asking for help are the same people that let it happen in the first place. It was revealed during his trial that Alan Stanford had donated more than $2.4 million to US politicians on both sides of the aisle.
