Dark Energy Is a Good Description for What's Going On

Dark energy is the name we give to the observation that the universe is expanding and that that expansion is somehow accelerated. It takes about two thirds of all the energy in the universe to make this happen. So dark energy is a good description for what's going on, because it's also basically everything we know about it. I think if a cartoonist had designed universe, there would be sparkles or, like, you know, action lines or something to show the universe is stretching.
