The Influence of Hellenism on Jerusalem

This chapter examines the efforts of Jason, a wealthy leader, to assimilate the Jews of Jerusalem into Hellenistic culture through the establishment of a gymnasium and promotion of Greek customs, resulting in the paganization of the city and a decline in dedication to the Jewish faith.
