The Signs of Autonomic Dysreflexia
The brain recognizes that there's an increase in blood pressure because your carotid arteries have baroreceptors. So it goes to the brain and says, hey, blood pressure's up for some reason, we need to drop it. And what it does is it sends this inhibitory signal and a vagal nerve signal,. The parasympathetic nervous system can control sweating if the sympathetic nervous system is out of action. Flushing, headache and sweating as some of the common symptoms indicating that autonomic dysreflexia is occurring.
