The Myth of the Cambridge Hellfire Club
The room at the end of Cow Lane has remained vacant ever since, but some students swear that every year on all souls night, the incorporeal appalling club still meets. The entire story seems to have been a product of Sir Arthur Gray's imagination. Further research has discovered no other evidence of an everlasting or appalling club at Cambridge. In fact, there's no evidence of any Hellfire-like society at the school around 1738.
