What I Learned From Fishing Communities in the Caribbean
I think, um, i just made it less theoretical. I spent a lot of time drinking beer with fishermen. These are people who, you know, fishing is not a job, it's a way of life. It's a culture. And so it was really important for me to hear out of the mouth of a fisherman. There's a 15 year old fish, and he was the youngest one i interviewed. Um, part time, he wasn't, he was still in school. He grew up in this strong oral tradition. Like most fishing communities, have a pretty strong oral tradition of, like, the biggest fish stories. But now we show the size of fish we catch horizontally
