Our brains are really good at using fear to help us fight or fight in the immediate, in the present moment. If there's something dangerous, the fight-fight-free reaction that happens and we do what we need to do to stay safe. We also learn from fear. So if we've been in a dangerous situation, we can look back on it afterwards and say, wow, that was dangerous. Let's avoid that in the future.
