There is a shrinking of horizons in some respects within these various worlds. And so we probably do those of us inside it downplay how it looks from the outside. But again, it's hard to sort of then map it across our politics. Parties can exploit it for sure. Donald Trump was brilliant at it. We don't have that. Our politics is responding to a narrower and narrower set of signals on both sides. What we need is a broader, more human set of signals.
