We Can't Be Certain That Anything Exists
David hume would have agreed with this wholeheartedly. We as a species, still have to find the best way that we can to find connections and relationships between things in the natural world. Even if we can't know these things for certain, the benefits of doing so are just undeniable. An evolutionary in point, you know, no further progress is capable of being made in this field. So once positioned ourselves atop this honest foundation that hume lays out for us, how do we make sense of the world? That's the question you're left with.
