I can see us getting more and more attached to our machines. I feel like it's hard enough to lose a loved one who's a real human being in this life. Thinking about mourning over the hard drive failure of a humanized machine feels disturbingly psychologically dangerous. We should not be trying to make machines act like humans and be convincingly humans why not let them do what they do best, he says. He suggests that we look at systems that let us amplify what people do best rather than diminish their capabilities.
