Hardline anti-crime mayor Rodrigo Duterte is poised to become the next president of the Philippines. In 2016, at the start of his period, the police were encouraged to take action against drug dealers in a campaign called Tokung that translates to knock and plead. It quickly became known as a knock on the door followed by death. Almost every day dead bodies are being recovered from the streets in Manila.
