There are other sources and bits and bobs. Tacitus in the 1st century made some commentary on the Germanic tribes. Procopius inserted a chapter from conversations he'd clearly had from a barbarian about Britain. And then there's Nenius was a mad Welsh monk who wrote in the late 8th century, although actually the authorship is in doubt. It's a rather difficult source, full of speculative events which make it difficult to sort the wheat from the chaff. In general, I think the Anglo-Saxons get a pretty poor deal in history.
