Roland Barth wrote that there's no authentic meaning to any book, the author's voice itself. This is of course has profound consequences within literature, but it has even more profound consequences within scripture-based religions. There is no authentic religion anymore. All the religions become inauthentic. And you can see how if this is something that they believe then certainly, certainly you have a crisis of authenticity at the heart of this thought.
