There's a ongoing comodification of mindfulness in the self help world. And, you know, i feel like that has been the case from the beginning with this kind of content. The biggest examples is going to be what i would relate to the new thought movement. Things where, if you do enough mindfulness, you can cure your ex-ise. That comes from a day when we didn't realize that there were uses of mind that could influence our emotional and physical well being.
