During the pandemic, Yaeji was thinking a lot about her childhood and resurfacing buried memories that she had kind of suppressed from that really isolating period of her life. The album is about processing rage, but it doesn't actually have such a rageful sound. "I was quietly and then loudly blown away by just how much she seemed to push herself," says singer-songwriter Kat Kinsman.
