The History of Oppenheimer

Many of Oppenheimer's fellow engineers were either communists, former communists or suspected communists. After World War II ended in 1945, the Manhattan Project was restructured into a new program called the Atomic Energy Commission. The exposure of multiple project-wide employees and spies only confirmed Louis Strauss' suspicions. If anything, the blame should fall in the military for slacking on background checks.
