The term beaned comes from the colloquial expression of your head as a bean or your bean Frankly as a baseball fan. I've never heard an announcer or a sports writer use the term beener It's almost inevitably bean ball or bean it's never bean or and I suspect we had a crossword puzzle author here Who was not a particularly active baseball fan but knew enough that this was close to home.
