The Jacksonian Democracy and the Abolitionist Movement
Both parties to some extent see the abolitionists as a threat because when you say both parties just so this is the wig party wig party yeah no republican party right now. There is exactly this is the one little slice of American history which extends from the late 1820s to the mid 1850s during which you have the jacksonian democrats and the wigs their opponents. And so I think the democratic leaders were slaveholders, the, the rise of immediate test abolitionism was really in the 1830s that you get this with the publication of garrison's liberator in Boston.
