Inequality and the Idea of Nation Nationhood

In india alone, right now, the top ten % of the population earns about 57 % of the national income. That's obscene. And within that, just the one top one percent alone earned 22%. The bottom 50% or bottom half of the population live in extreme poverty. These are the things that matter more even what your idea of nationhood is. I think i have said it before on the podcas only that india is a continent pretending to be a country. So this idea that because india is the way it is, i it should always be like this, there can't be any other arrangement,. is just for anybody outside of india.
