Is There a Need for Longer Term Thinking?
There's become too much of a focus upon very, very short term returns. I think corporate horizons have shrunk dramatically so that senior pulsy makers in private bodies are typically only thinking at most five years ahead. Now i do think th there's a need for developing social institutions which do promote longer term thinking Historically, one of the main ones that did that was the family. People would think gynastically, if you will. In many parts of the world that is still the case.
