Cow Calf Operations on Cover Crops

I live in the county that has the least amount of grass per acre in the state of Kansas. When I found out you could raise the cow calf operation on cover crops, I was like, man, I'm going to do that. The guys who influenced me early on were focused on the mama cow. That's something I've been focused on from the beginning and it's something I continue to be focused on. Unless you know that cow family, what that cow family's done, I don't know how you can build a cow herd.
