The Impending Victory of God
When I was in seminary, I read a book called Jesus and the Victory of God. And that completely revolutionized the way I understood the New Testament. The more I read the gospels within their first century context, the more sense they were making. In other words, Jesus' mission to Israel is the foundation and the template for the church's mission to the world.
