Capitalism Isn't Inevitable

Anthropologists have shown that indigenous communities used gifting cultures. They would stockpile goods, for example, in long houses and female councils would allocate the goods. Other communities had gift economies where I would say I needed medicine - you would offer it to me. And then if you needed later on an axe, I would lend you or give you the axe that I had been using. It's a period of time that has basically pitted us in competition with each other forever, fleeting resources. So capitalism is not inevitable. It's never been inevitable. The problem is, is that it didn't happen. It's made up entirely.
