The Chain of Being in Western Philosophy

In western philosophy, there's always some residual faculty in man that gives him the potency to ascend the chain of being. The donum superaditum is a booster shot against the virus of non being. Vanto calls this dimensionalism. And what is it doing? It's transcending the movement toward non being and ascending up that chain of being and move into higher dimensions. But it's definitely a ground up, autonomous quest of sorts.
