There's a lot of ideas that physicists have that can be productively applied to society in general, and democracy in particular. In fact, when i mentioned this to david crackouer, the current president of s f i, he said, "All you need to do is study everything the santa fe institute has ever produced" The other course i'll be teaching will be an upper level philosophy course on topics in philosophy of physics. We're all cover things like the arrow of time, in quanta, mechanics and cosmology from a philosophical point of view. So that should also be a lot of fun.
