The open source housing thing is definitely not his term and it's a term that I use quietly because what I was looking to describe was a more collaborative way of doing housing, design and construction. And the route that I chose to study and then work within was the Wiki House project, Wiki House Foundation. The difficult things were how can you build the social architecture that sits around this? Things like warranties, so insurance gets fire and making sure that the buildings wouldn't fall on people. Those physical aspects mostly maintain across the world. But with different materials and different environments and contexts, there's some changes that need to come in.
