Nashville Hot Chicken was originally called the BBQ Chicken Shack. Thornton Prince ran his restaurant with his brothers as a side gig until he died in 1970. Andre Prince, Thornton's great niece, took the reins in 1980 and she helped to lift the restaurant out of obscurity.
